#destiny17 Clue 3!! 1 comment

We’re getting So darn close to the reveal, and I am SO PUMPED.  Popularity and excitement for this book has grown so much since I first started this project, and I am so thankful for every one of you followers who have been keeping up with #destiny17!

And today, it is time for CLUE THREE!!!!

The last thing we learned, was that our MC is living in a culture other than his own. And I actually did a whole Q&A based on my book, and I’ll link the post here: http://gabriellaslade.com/2017/06/12/destiny17-qa/ , in case you would like to see some of the new, exclusive information released, including a small snippet of the final cover for the book.  For Clue 3, I am actually going to give you the name of one of my characters, PLUS name two books sound like they have similarities to #destiny17.  (Disclaimer: the following name is not the name of the main character.  I decided after much consideration, to save the MC’s name for the official reveal.)

So without further ado, let me give you the name of a minor character in my book!

Drum roll please….

The name I am sharing is Jerome! (It’s supposed to be pronounce Jer-ohm, but I pronounce it Jere-omay.  🙂 ) I won’t say how he will be a part of the story, but I think you’re really going to like him. And from my research, two books I think remind me of #destiny17 are

  • Any Shadowhunter chronicles book (I know that’s a lot of books)
  • By Darkness Hid by Jill Williamson

I’m just going to point out that I have not yet read either of these books outside of Kindle samples.  However, based on their premise, I can tell that have some similarities.  I hope you enjoyed these clues! This was fun, and I now want to give you an update on the book’s progress!

I finished the 2nd draft last week, which is great! I did a lot of rewriting, which now put it at 85,802 words! This means I have added 40K to the 2nd draft, and I am SO happy! I recently dove into reading and beginning draft 3, and although I do have some structural issues to fix, I am remembering why I love this project so much, and I can’t wait to reveal it to you guys!

That’s all I have for you today! If you haven’t, please subscribe to get blog updates and monthly newsletters, and go like my Facebook page if you haven’t already! Thanks for reading, and I will see you all next week!

In HIS Joy,

Gabriella Slade
